How to obtain Mongolian Visa
A
30-day tourist visa can be obtained from any Mongolian Embassy abroad.
Diplomatic representatives abroad and honorary consulates of Mongolia
have rights to issue Mongolian visas to foreign citizens. No official
or private invitation paper is required for foreign citizens to get Mongolian
visa except the citizens of Russia and China. To check the nearest embassy
or consulates please visit at www.mongolia-foreign-policy.net/index.php?moduls=61.
Citizens
of USA and Israel do not need Mongolian visa for a visit not exceeding
a month. Citizens of Poland, Kazakhstan do not require a visa for a visit
not exceeding 3 months. Citizens of Philippines enter with no visa for
a visit not exceeding 3 weeks. Citizens of Singapore do not need a visa
for a visit not exceeding 2 weeks.
Citizens
of those countries, which have no official contract on relaxing visa regime
or who is willing to stay more than 30 days, should have an official or
private invitation.
Alternatively,
those who travel from countries with no diplomatic representatives of
Mongolia can get a visa either from the Mongolian Embassy in Beijing or
Moscow.
Please note that the former visa regulations obtaining visas at the border entry points, have recently been changed. It is now NOT possible to buy visas at Mongolian borders or at the airport upon arrival. Visas must be obtained in advance.
Therefore, we strongly recommend that to check this official link http://www.mongoliatourism.gov.mn/. By the way, you also need to check the visa requirements for the
gateway countries into Mongolia i.e. China, Russia, unless you are on
a direct flight.
If
you need an invitation paper, Mongolia Trekking will send it with pleasure.
